Once upon a time... in my early twenties... I fell in love with Edward Cullen and wrote a bunch of Twilight fanfiction. I'm not embarassed by that. Really. Not even a little bit.

The Devious Plot of Fred and George Weasley Concerning the Unlikely Benefits of Polyjuice Potion

This originally appeared on ADifferentForest.net as part of their Author Spotlight series. This is our version of a wrap-up interview after the 5-year adventure that was An Introduction to Swirl and Daisy, which spanned the beginning of our relationship and the conclusion of our time in the fandom. P.S. xsecretxkeeperx was the beta for all my stories, if you didn't know that. ;-)

Transcriber’s Notes:
You don’t read these notes. I KNOW you don’t, because this is the 5,922 time I’ve written that I do not understand why we’re still recording and transcribing every phone conversation between Subject M and Subject X. It’s been five years. FIVE YEARS, people, of nothing but in-depth America’s Got Talent analysis, drama stemming from minor grammar differences, and innumerous bits of random conversation that led to absolutely nothing.

Worst of all is the Twilight fanfiction. For five bleeding years, I have transcribed THOUSANDS of conversations revolving around a story about Edward and Bella, but whom Subject M insists on calling Swirl and Daisy. I will never understand this. Why does Subject X take Subject M’s calls at four in the morning, when all she has to ask is whether “her” Bella could feasibly score higher on the SATs than “her” Edward? Who cares how much a fictional website started by middle schoolers is actually worth? Why does it matter if Edward likes Lord of the Rings and Bella likes Harry Potter?

I. Do. Not. Care.

I came to work at the NSA to make a difference, not to listen to silly girls debate over whether Robert Pattinson looks better clean shaven or with facial hair. It is my recommendation that we close Case #862734 and move on to subjects of actual interest.

9:07 PM -- Subject X calls Subject M

Subject M: What up, yo?

Subject X: Ow! Wait! Don’t talk! I can’t hear you! I dropped the phone! I dropped the phone! Okay, now I can hear you. Hi.

Subject M: Hey. I’m just reading through Senior Year on the Swirl and Daisy PDF. Fixing typos is f--king killing me. No offense.

Subject X: (laughs) None taken. It’s your fault anyway. There’s really only so much saving a girl can do.

Subject M: True dat. At least we got better as we went along.

Subject X: Seriously. Swirl and Daisy was one of the best learning experiences.

Subject M: You know what’s funny? I have no recollection of writing Sophomore Year. Like, I remember what happens in the story, but where was I at? I can’t remember actually typing it up.

Subject X: (laughs) Don’t ask me. I can’t remember what happened last week. That’s a lie. I was busting my ass on the last two chapters of Swirl and Daisy. You’re welcome.

Subject M: You know you loved it.

Subject X: I do.

Subject M: Duh. Anyway, what’s up? Why’d you call?

Subject X: Oh! Did you see the latest episode of Downton Abbey?

Subject M: No! I’ve been working on the stupid Swirl and Daisy PDF. I swear, you think you’re done with something, and then you find all new ways to torture yourself. (sighs) To be honest, I think there’s a small part of me that hasn’t been ready to let it go.

Once upon a long time ago, a wonderful lady pennamed Whyuh asked me if she could draw the pictures she saw inside of her head when she read Swirl and Daisy. My answer was an immediate, resounding "HELL YES! Please, please, please!"

The resulting artwork was something that blew my flippin' mind. It felt like she peeked into my brain and drew it. I LOVE this artwork and am so happy it brought me close to this incredible author, editor, and woman. Thank you!

This is a drabble I wrote for a FicPics.com challenge back in 2012, inspired by this fun, awesome banner by the wonderful maimu.

As prom themes went, A Cinderella Night probably wasn’t the lamest, but it certainly was the most inappropriate – at least for this prom. Our “Cinderella” (aka: Prom Queen) was not a poor, raggedy servant with a life of misfortune, but rather a modestly privileged teenage girl who managed to look radiant every day without the help of a fairy godmother.

Bella practically glowed under the illumination of twinkle lights as she walked to the makeshift platform to accept her tiara. The dance committee had done their best hamming the school gym up for the prom, stringing up thousands of lights and producing a gigantic paper-mache pumpkin carriage. The effect was enchanting, especially considering the aforementioned Bella-glow and all.

Boy, did she look dazzling tonight, wearing a pure white dress adorned with sparkly crystals and layers upon layers of poofy-stuff. Her face danced with a smile as she lifted said poofy-stuff to walk up the platform stairs, revealing a pair of bright-pink Converse Chucks. This was the kind of thing that made her popular – she was just quirky enough to make most of the girls like her, and beyond mysterious enough to make all of the guys want her.

This is a drabble I wrote for a FicPics.com challenge back in 2011. It was inspired by this banner, made by the incredible vican.

Though she looked slightly savage, with her eyes and lips still stained with the color of her last victim’s blood, all I could see was a scared woman huddled against a brick wall in a darkened alley.

I knew she had murdered before. I knew she would murder again. I knew she’d probably murder me. But still I wouldn’t leave her.

I’d searched for her through seven states, twelve traffic tickets, and three natural disasters. My only guidance or hint as to where she was being the nasty trail of victims she left in her wake. A serial killer, the news and police repeatedly called her. Every bounty hunter that crossed my path was tracking her, looking for the $50,000 reward the state had placed on her, dead or alive. There was no way I was letting her go now.

In Chapter 22: The First Time She Made a Frenemy, Bella’s pet mouse dies and she desperately needs her father, who is on an overnight outing with the Forks High baseball team in Seattle. I wrote the phone call that takes place between them from both Charlie and Bella’s perspectives to help me with the dialogue.
